Sad excuse for a judge. More intent on lecturing than listening to testimony. Does not demonstrate the capacity to follow testimony, and seemed unable to process information. Appeared to me to have his mind set on an outcome, and chose only to engage when something supported that outcome.
Judge Barrett was deliberate and concise. He seems to operate under a mantle of fairness and the best interest of the children. He took the extra step to call myself and the other party into his chambers to hammer out a fair agreement. My only regret is that he was required to recuse himself before the completion of my case.
LAZY. I've been before Judge Barrett on numerous occasions and he is unprepared about the case and unfamiliar with the law. He CONSTANTLY tries to resolve the entire case off the record in his chambers. I really despise practicing before him because of his dim wit.
Judge Barrett yells, doesn't allow pro se to execute their complaints and seems to have determined the outcome of a case before they even begin. He always goes "off the record", where valuable insight could be gained for someone reviewing transcripts. He physically shakes, and it's no wonder his mental capacity is at a low--there is something physically wrong of which affects his mental capability. He should be off the bench. Horrible Judge. He also doesn't take Petition for Contempt seriously if you're Pro se.
