I have seen Judge Alfieri make mistakes regarding the law as well as ethical lapses. It is a sad fact that no action has been taken against Judge Alfieri for all the mistakes he has made and cotinues to make, lives that he has ruined and continues to ruin and appeals that people are forced to pay for due to his mental state, whether due to a stroke or some other underlying cause. The fact is that it is well known in the Rockland County Supreme Court that this Judge is incapable of rendering proper decisions. An attempt at a joke by a lawyer was that a revolving door was going to be installed at the Appeals Court just for Judge Alfieri's Appeals. I did not find this remark amusing. If anyone who has been harmed by this Judge would like to talk about possible resolutions, please send an e-mail to justiceinrocklandny@gmail.com.

Elected to the court in 2006, he routinely jails parents for not paying the other side’s legal bills, even when they are indigent. This was what he did with Daniel Bruen. Alfieri also routinely threatens parents who request a jury trial, telling them he will punish them with harsher sentences if a jury finds against the parent seeking the jury trial – a pattern of intimidation and revenge that permeates the NY family court machine. Mercifully, Alfieri was stood down from the bench at the end of 2016.
